...my last experience....

this time I wuold like to tell you about my last experience,I had when I decide to take my vacations outside of chile. by the way, I had never travelled by plane; at first I was little scared, but I could easily overcome the symptoms I felt, when the plane started and when it landed, although there were some difficults to land, because of a storm which didn't let us to land in the original airport, so we had to go to another airport, near of it and we remained 4 hour in campina, it was horrible but after that we could start again to sao paulo.
my boyfriend's uncle was waiting for us,(I though that we was very bored and angry, but he dissembled very well) he took us to his apartment, where we were going to stay. the storm lasted 4 days; nevertheless, people go out under the rain as usual.
It's an extraordinary clean city, you see no garbache on the streets, you see plenty of policemen and camaras on the streets watching for thieves and unsual events that might disturb public order and security for tourists.
It has a very long beach, 15 kilometers long. sea water is warm and transparent; palm trees grow on the beach, there are many stands where you can drink or eat anything you want.
owing to the heat you feel wet all day. there usually are morning to night 35 degrees which is unsual for us.
you see ventilators everywhere inside the houses, apartments, stands etc. and so on...
most peolple used to walk barefoot or with sandals, hawains. girls and young women very few clothes, generally a bath-suit or a little skirt and boys and young men, a short without t-shirt.
an other disagreable thing is the presence of thousands of mosquitos that stick to your skin.
well, some other places I visited, for intance, sao paulo, where most people work and It has no beaches, and campina island, where you can watch many little hut everywhere...

a pleasant suprise

one day when I come back home from my job, I found the most pleasant surprise I could ever imagine, someone had found my wallet I recently lost on the street; you can't imagine the relief I felt, for in this wallet I keep all the things which are important to me: my identify card and all the credit cards from the commercial houses.

it's so agreable to see that there are still honest people in this world, who has such sensibility towards other people. I 'll be always grateful for this gesture

what did you do if you have been lost your wallet?

do you think there's still people like that?

do you think she deserve a gift for her gesture and honesty?

Chilean typical food

Chile is one of the world's finnest and most varied seafood and many of it's traditional plates are specialties from the sea.chile is a cosmopolitan city that is plenty of restaurants that can suit every palatte, for intance here goes some examples of our most popular dishes:
  • Machas a la parmesana: south american razor clams beked with fresh parmesan cheese melted over the top.
  • Paila Marina:a thin broth loaded with fresh seafood and fish.
  • Ceviche:fish or shellfish marinated overnight in lemon juice served chilled.
  • Curanto:is an omnivores's favorite that combines fish, shellfish, chiken, pork, lamb, beef and potatoes in a hearty stew.
  • Cazuela: a clear broth with rice, potato, corn on the cob, plus a piece of beef or chicken.
  • Lomo a lo pobre:is a filling combination of steak topped with two fried eggs and accompanied with french fries.
finally, in my personal opinion, I think the less popular dish could be "pastel de choclo" that it's a mixes of chiken, beef, meat or seafood, olives, and cheese.
I invite you to taste all the specialties that we have....

Nothing can be done to save the enviroment

Well,at frist sight it sound true because our planet is in great danger and peolple of earth have wasted and missused the natural resources.

several plans have been developed to stop the abuse in animals, green areas and in the enviroment in general and the problems have become so complex that many people feel they can have no control them.however there some things that human being can control, like our waste reduction and recycling activities can make the difference, for intance:
  • keeping recycle bens in the kitchen may help to stop people from accidentally throwing into the trash an item that could have been recycled.
  • solar panels are a series of mirrors that transform sunlight into solar energy and this can help to heat water and power home appliances and is a great resource of clean, non-polluting energy.
  • the reused of books saves thousands of trees that would be used to make copies of these ones.
  • a landfill, is a great idea, but it won't work if people continue to believe it's a place for all trash.
  • we can help save natural resources by taking our old belongings that are no longer needed to a second hand store.
as you know there're many things that we can do and we have to be persevering because never is late to react infront of unconscious people....

Good Memories

I've a couple of friend who have a summer house in canellillo;I remember sometime ago they invited me to celebrate a "venetian night" there. It was a charming festival under the lights of candles. we danced all night with the music of a band which played all kinds of rythims. we're a group of friends who always get on very well.
the party was very well organized, each one had a special job to fulfill , for intance, I was in charge of the meal, others had to care about the drinks, soft drinks and cigarrettes. unfortunately there were some who drank too much and feel asleep on the sand... jajaja...( I was one of them).
about 6 or 7 am it was time to return home and we had to climb a hill to get home; it was still dark and we had no torches, no candles so we stumbled at every step, which caused us much laughter. we enjoyed very much this party......

should computer based programmes replace real clases?

I think that computer based programmes have not advanced enough to replace the social interaction that ocurr in a classroom. historically, communal learning has always been the most effective way for educating the student and generating thought-provoking discussion in class. I don't believe technology has reached a point where we can duplicate that effectively on a computer.
I think the feedback from the teacher is vital and working in groups is a good way to share and increase our knowledge, also there're some spaces such us, chat rooms, message board and instant messaging that are good subtitutes, but they're by no means replacements for the exchange of a tacit knowledge.
well, I think it's a very effective tool for helping introverts who don't talk in class to join the discussion.

ska-P

Ska-P
is a ska punk band formed in Madrid, Spain, in 1994, that could be categorized, politically, as an anarchist musicalgroup. It is one of the most popular ska bands in Spain and Europe.
Their nonconformist attitude is also evident in their eccentric haircuts. Some band members have mohawks while others are almost bald-shaven (with a ponytail at the back).
in February 2005, the sudden and unexpected announcement was made that the band would take a break to allow the members to work on side projects, though some consider the band to have dissolved. The band's worldwide farewell tour of 2005 ended in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October of that year. On April 24th, 2008 the band confirmed to be getting back together. They are currently working on 12 new songs for their upcoming 7th album. The band has scheduled the new album to be released in October 2008 followed by a brief tour
.
