assigment # 3 post modernist literature
I like most the legend of sleepy hallow, because it shows the both side of the money, people from the country and peolpe from the city. in that time this kind of differences were very relevant,it was one reason to make people slaves and to start the racism that up to this days is strongly common, specially in our country with perubians and bolivian.
and the other reading that I enjoyed was heart and darkness, because it also talk about from two points extremely differents.
2. are these readings very good or excellent examples of post-modernist literature, basing your analysis on the ppt presentation given in class why / why not ?

3. of all readings you did this semester, which one was your favorite? why?
my favorite was the wasteland, because it was the most difficult to understand, because it changes of speaker, location and time make it a little complex to readers. and another important thing is that it has a great variety of culture and literature and also it has the most dinstinctive feature poem's style.

I read the Wasteland,Eliot,T.S and Seven Pillars of Wisdom,Lawrence,T.E
2.Based on these readings comprare and contrast with 3 examples with the themes ppt presentatio in class from the modernist culture and literature.
the wasteland
shows its shits between satire and prophecy, its abruts and unnannounced changes of speaker, location and time, its intimidating summoning up of a vast and dissonant range of cultures and literature.
the poem has nonetheless become familiar touchtone of modern literature, among its famous phrases are:
" April is the cruellest month"
" I will show you fear in a handful of dust"
dramatic monologue follows the pattern of music hall, musical fugue in which many voices enter throughout the piece re-stating the themes. its moves from different voices and makes use of phrases in foreing languague that is the most distinctive feature of the poem`s style.
It has a biblical interpretation and has relevance to the arab revolt.
Seven Pilars of Wisdom
Laurence described this version as "hopelessly bad" in literary terms, but historically it was "substancially complete and accurate".
Laurence was in a state of severe mental turmoil: the psycological after of a war were taking their toll as were his exhaustion from the literary endeavorous of the past three years.
It was time that the re-enhsted in the armed forces under an assumed name.
Literary merits aside, however, producing the subscribers´edition had left Laurence facing bankruptoy. he was forced to undertake an even more stringeent prunning to producee a version for sale to the general public, this was the 1927 revolt in the desert.
3. Do you feel the works you read are very good or excellent representations of modernist literature? why? why not?
I think they are properly accurate for the period, that was completed of conflict in many part of the world and every problem drove war.

This two books that I choose describes completely differents things bettween them, but at the same time are extremely related with the victorian age, because if we focus on the legend of sleepy hollow, it themes refer specially of the clash or conflict between the city and the country and between brains and brawns and in the victorian age happens somthing equal with the important of urbanization and industralization, and it carry out two class well defined richness and poverty which has a great important in that period.
heart and darkness discribes the symbolic terms of the struggle of god and evil( light and darkness) and at the same time it talks of a powerful condemnation of the hypocritical operations of imperialism,it also present a set of issues surrounding race that is potencially, more troubling.it also make references of the dark continent "africa" in the victorian era with all the atributes of darkness to africans by the british.
Do you feel that the works you read are very good or excellent representation of victorian literature? why, why not?

The original Old English language was then influenced by two waves of invasion: the first by speakers of the Scandinavian branch of the Germanic language family, who conquered and colonized parts of Britain in the 8th and 9th centuries; the second by the Normans in the 11th century, who spoke Old Norman and ultimately developed an English variety of this called Anglo-Norman.
